In 2021, Australians lost more than $2 billion to scams. This dollar value however does not convey the real cost in terms of emotional harm done to families and businesses. Of the people who lost money, only 56% were able to recover any of it.
Scammers are becoming more sophisticated and opportunistic, so the more we learn about their methods, the better we will be at spotting and stopping scams.
