Community Grants Program

Applications for the 2026 Community Grants Program are now open

We’re proud to give back to our Illawarra, Shoalhaven, Eurobodalla and Sapphire Coast communities through the Horizon Bank Community Grants Program. It’s all about supporting local projects and programs that align with our values, make a real difference in the community and help people thrive.

We started our Community Grants Program in 2022 with a goal of supporting the communities in which we operate. We have proudly supported over 60 projects in the four years that our grants program has been running – giving over $250,000 back to the communities we serve. 

We’re excited that our 2026 Community Grants Program is now open and welcoming applicants. If you are a non for profit, registered charity or community group and have a project that aligns with our values and creates a positive, lasting impact on the community, we would love to hear from you.

Is your project eligible? 

Eligible organisations can apply for grants of up to $5,000 (including GST). Funding requests of up to $10,000 may also be considered for initiatives that demonstrate a strong alignment with our values and priorities.

Every application is carefully assessed, taking into account your organisation's local impact, the difference your work makes, and the outcomes you've achieved to date.

What we can't fund

While we’d love to support as many initiatives as possible, there are some things that are deemed ineligible.

This includes projects or programs that:

• Are discriminatory in any way
• Provide financial gain to an individual or business
• Could impact public health or safety
• Promote substance abuse or gambling
• May cause harm or offence to the community or environment
• Are political or religious in nature
• Focus on food collection or distribution
• Already receive funding from another financial institution
• Cover general running costs, meals, travel, or accommodation
• One off events or partnerships
• Could be seen as a bribe or personal benefit
• Have received a Community Grant from us in the past two years
