The Community Grants Program reflects Horizon Bank’s commitment to our wonderful Illawarra & South Coast communities. Horizon Bank is proud to support projects and programs that align with our values, and are making a significant contribution to the community and the lives of others.

Grants are available of up to a maximum amount of $5,000 (including GST) per application. Projects must provide enduring value to the community and have key project deliverables. Each submission will be reviewed based on the organisation’s community involvement, impact and achievements. The grant application must also equate to at least 50% of the remaining budget to complete the project and the project must be completed in this financial year.

The following groups are eligible to apply:

  • Community groups
  • Incorporated not-for-profit organisations
  • Registered charities

We encourage you to apply if the project:

  • Will create benefits for the community
  • Is likely to become self-sustaining over time
  • Has the ability to transfer skills and knowledge
  • May be considered innovative, or a "first" within your community
  • Meets a real need or solves a community problem

The Horizon Bank Community Grants Program will consider groups ineligible if it:

  • May be construed as discriminatory
  • Contributes to the financial gain of an individual or business
  • Could be detrimental to public health or safety
  • Promotes or encourages substance abuse or gambling
  • Could present a hazard or cause offence to the community or the environment
  • Is of a religious or political nature

  • Receives sponsorship or funding from another financial institution
  • Is being used for running costs, meals, travel or accommodation expenses
